About the Opportunity
We are currently expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Training Development Manager to join our team at our Surrey office. In this role, you will work across the Lower Mainland to identify workforce training needs through skill gap analysis and performance evaluations.
As our new Training Development Manager, you will have a pivotal role in building this position and department from the ground up. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs tailored to the specific requirements of our construction sites.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to) working on:
- Developing training programs encompassing technical skills, equipment operation, safety protocols, and job-specific training
- Creating clear, easily replicable training manuals for employees
- Aligning program development with the President's road map
- Collaborating closely with site managers and exercising full authority over program design and implementation
- Prioritizing training initiatives for the most significant and quickest impact
- Providing and enhancing effective training and safety processes
- Using your industry expertise to instill confidence in your audience
- Assessing training needs to enhance employee performance and productivity
- Ensuring optimal staffing levels, retention, and policy compliance
- Fostering team ethic, camaraderie, and building relationships through site visits
- Conducting reviews in collaboration with foremen
About You
In order to qualify for this position, you will need a minimum of 5 years of experience in the framing construction industry. In addition, this role requires a Valid Driver’s License.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Ability to apply your industry expertise and skill gap analysis to create effective training programs
- Wood framing understanding and knowledge
- Red Seal certified (asset)
- Carpentry experience (asset)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine desire to help people grow
- Ability to identify training needs and opportunities for improvement
- Adaptability in your training and approaches for diverse personality types, experience levels, and age groups
- Exceptional organizational skills for effective task management
- Willingness and capability to create and document processes and procedures
- Interest and willingness to create instructional videos
- Disciplined in observing and offering constructive feedback
