About the Opportunity
We are currently expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Manager, Wood Framing to join our team at our Surrey office.
As our new Project Manager, Wood Framing, you will report to and collaborate closely with the Construction Manager and Lead Estimator. Your primary responsibilities will include managing both pre-construction and in-progress construction projects, estimating labour requirements and sourcing, as well as coordinating the procurement of materials.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to) working on:
- Reviewing plans and maintaining tender schedules
- Estimation, tender documentation processes, and quantity surveys
- Managing information flow with clients for project requirements
- Following established plans and processes for effective task prioritization
- Sourcing scope clarifications and conducting site instruction costing
- Monitoring project starts, scopes, and scheduling
- Analyzing labour and materials data for resource optimization
- Utilizing SmartSheets for performance data tracking and estimation follow-ups
- Handling email communications and liaising with clients, suppliers, and external contacts
- Serving as the point of contact for shop drawing submissions and approvals
- Working with the construction manager from estimate to project award, including thorough review of bid documents
About You
In order to qualify for this position, you will ideally have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the carpentry/framing construction industry, coupled with knowledge and experience in labour, materials and project management.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Proficiency in plan reading, wood framing assemblies, and estimation software
- Demonstrated strength in technical written and verbal communication
- Excellent aptitude in mathematics, analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving
- Proven expertise in providing constructive feedback and recommendations for cost-estimating procedures
- Adaptability in tailoring communication styles for various audiences
- Comprehensive understanding of industry-specific software, including PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build, ProCore, PlanSwift, or similar
- Exceptional organizational skills for efficient task management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel, MS Teams, PDF editing, as well as SmartSheets (training to be provided )
- Experience with estimation software to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Strong knowledge of diverse project management tools and methodologies
